Practice makes perfect. Get together with a couple of your friends who are also trying out and practice as much as you can. Help each other out with weak spots, encourage each other and give each other constructive criticism. The cheers usually rhyme unless it's a long competitive cheer routine, in which case they usually tell a bit of a story so try to think of it in those terms and it shouldn't be too hard to remember what comes next. Even if you can't get together with anyone else, write down what you remember as soon as practice is over and go over it every chance you get. You'll get there! If you blank out during the tryouts, keep smiling and keep going! Do NOT let it show on your face that you've messed up! As soon as you show disappointment on your face and in your body language, they deduct points but if you mess up and you can get through it without showing it... it's all good!

Good luck!

My method of remembering dance moves while singing is pretty simple. Once you learn the cheer just put words with the choreography and remember what words go with what step.

I know, it sounds like the regular way to pick up stuff, but that is how I always remember. Also when I try to practice stuff at home I can never remember or get it right, but once you are in the performance atmosphere it all comes back to you.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do awesome, let me know!

by employing "jumps and stuff" do you recommend you're small and lightweight-weight sufficient to be a "flyer" (which ability the only tossed severe into the air)? in case you're certainly mild, and prefer being tossed, you will likely make the squad with even a splash prepare on the cheers and dance exercises. solid flyers are in call for, no longer all can or will do it. like the different answer, pass over the cheers. in case you are able to fly, you ought to already have confidence...solid success!

Make flash cards for the words. Practice, practice, practice.
