Earth is just the right distance from the Sun. Closer in and we'd boil. Further out and we'd freeze. We live in a kind of 'safe zone' that's perfect for life. Trouble is, that zone is moving. As we speak the Sun is getting hotter and as it does, the region where life can exist, shifts further and further out.
As the sun burns up its nuclear energy, it will become hotter and hotter. By the time the Sun is just 5% hotter, plant life everywhere will be dying. 10% hotter and animals too will begin to die. 15% rivers and oceans will evaporate, creating huge cloud banks; trapping more and more heat. In the far future, life will become impossible.
7,000,000,000 years from now, the Sun will consume the inner solar system. Long since seared barren by the sun, the place we once called home, melts and is engulfed.
Of course, 4,000,000,000 years before that happens, our galaxy will collide with Andromeda. It is possible, however unlikely, that our solar system might just be thrown into disarray by the collision.
OH, lest i forget ..Betelgeuse. The 'center' star of Orion's belt. Currently a red supergiant, astronomers predict the star will undergo a Type II supernova explosion sometime in the next 1,000-1,500 years. A Type II supernova at a distance of 32.6 light years from Earth would produce enough gamma radiation to destroy the ozone layer for several years. The distance to Betelgeuse is not precisely known, but if it is assumed to be 427 light years. Will our Ozone Layer hold? Who knows?

I heard that to....i dont know if ITS TRUE JUST BECAUSE THE AZTECS SAID IT WAS.
(oops caps lol.)
Well apparently the end of the world has already begun.
'University of Washington astrobiologists say the planet already has begun the long process of devolving into a burned-out cinder, eventually to be swallowed by the sun.'
"The disappearance of our planet is still 7.5 billion years away, but people really should consider the fate of our world and have a realistic understanding of where we are going,"
I HOPE this ones true...so i dont have to be alive for it.
I have also heard earth will end up as a iceball flying threw space as it will leave out solar system.
FOR AN EXACT TIME WHEN THE "EARTH WILL END"
November 19, 2008
It's not going to be a very happy Thanksgivining in 2008 for many people, in fact there will be no Thanksgiving. It will be the first year we've had nothing to give thanks about since we'll all be dead.
(oh, i just found out, some guy flipped heads and tales to see if the earth would end that day, so you cant be sure)
But you know the end of the earth, its Antarctica????
Remember we are just a speck of dust in the whole universe.
Quite frankly, i couldnt give a rats bum, but if you want to know what the end of the world will be like, then visit this link.

If it does end ill be drunk anyway.

The Aztec prophecy, while VERY impressive, has to do with the sun aligning with the center of the Milky Way, which they believed was the tree of life. They also beleived that the after-life was connected to this, so on December 21st, 2012 the earth would be cast into the abyss of the after-life.
It is impressive because they were 100% correct in predicting this astronomical event thousands of years before it happened, but in the end, it's based on a dead religion of an extinct people, so there isn't exactly an authority on the subject that can fill you in!
The bible states that only the Father (God) knows the time of the return of Christ, and that day will be the "end of the world" as we know it.
Let's say you DID know the exact hour and minute Jesus was going to return, what would you do about it? Would you save as many people as you could? Guess what? You are already commanded to do so!
Treat every day like the last!

Hum, generally, i think of prophesy is a gaggle of hooey. besides the incontrovertible fact that, i ought to admit the 012 element makes me a splash nerve-racking. right here is the proponderence of knowledge. There are discussions of the comet which "will strike the Planet" in no much less then 4 seperate sources. The Mayan Calendar, the Bible code, some Nostrodamus references and - startlingly - technology itself. technology is familiar with that for the time of 2012 the earth will line up with the middle of the universe for the 1st time in like 25000 years and, as a results of fact of gravitational wakes in area, we can be greater vunerable to this type of element. besides the incontrovertible fact that, The Mayan predictions are variety of unusual, they are awaiting that for the time of each and all ages peole won't have confidence the government, there will be droughts and floods and human beings will make war. Gee, i ought to are awaiting that and that i'm no longer psychic. Nostrodamus is notoriously complicated to interpet except you recognize what your searching for and the Bible code has some people who could debunk it with ease. technology says no longer something definitive, yet in the experience that your nerve-racking, permit me permit you recognize something of the prophesies. The comet won't definitely hit us. the international won't end. each and all of the three prophetic sources say that God or somebody else will divert the comet and humanity will enter a golden age as a results of fact human beings will finally understand why they have been positioned right here. variety of an ordeal by fireplace. So, no, the international won't bring about 2012, whether the prophesies are magnificent. in certainty, issues gets greater advantageous after that. And as properly, Prophesy is hooey. :)

The world is not going to end until the sun expands millions of years from now and burns it to a crisp.
Humanity might end much sooner due to war, disease, etc.
But the world will go on just fine without us.
I would hesitate to go off the predictions of the Aztecs, a civilization that was unable to predict their own demise.

That's absurd. The Aztecs also cut out people's beating hearts and wore the flailed skins of their enemies' daughters. The world is going to end tonight at 8:37 PST.

well...
if your religious you should know, but in the Bible it seriously says when everybody knows about Jesus or has heard of him..(revelations) also when the world is against Israel..(the movie left behind) when some miracle happens against some1 bombing it or something(book of Daniel ...Bible again) u know the worlds gonna end. and theres an anti-christ coming 2 power. the stars will fall and hers what i got from mathew 24:
5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many(antichrist). 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.
29"Immediately after the distress of those days
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken
dude/dudette :) i have no idea what ur religion is but thats the truth.
the truth is... nobody knows when the worlds gonna end. (exept God) but those are some things that will happen when it happens just so you know its here. :)
