No, they will not trade Dirk for Kobe, nor would the Lakers trade Kobe for Dirk. When you compare the two, Dirk is a once in a lifetime talent, even though he's not a winner, when you look at a seven footer who dribbles, shoots, and handles the ball like a guard, why would you ever trade him? Maybe you try to put non-choke artists around him, but you certainly don't trade him. Kobe's simply the most talented player in the league, notice I didn't say the best though, and you don't tradt that. If the Lakers do move him, if he doesn't back off this trade request and threatens to retire, they would look to recieve a package of players that they could build around, maybe from the Bulls or another Eastern Conference team. I would think they would try to get the number one pick from Portland or the number two from Seattle, but they probably wouldn't want to trade him within the conference and the Bulls are the only East team with the young nucleus of players to somewhat compensate for the loss of Kobe.

If that's as much as the Mavs, that's definitly no longer, then hell particular take the deal. in case you place Kobe on that group, which would be a very risky group. Kobe is w/o a doubt the terrific ordinary participant interior the league terrific now and shows up in playoff video games. Dirk is a 7 footer who performs like he's 6'8. Kobe could win his first MVP as a Mav so i'm hoping he continues to be out of there.

Hey, I'm Laker fan. Yes, my dream come true. Last night, I felt so shocked that Kobe wants Lakers trade him before I slept on my dream about Lakers like trade Kobe for Dirk. Wow your question I don't believe this my dream come true!! although I wish my dream will NOT come true and Kobe must stay Lakers if Jerry West come back to Lakers. If Lakers trade Kobe for Dirk, I will like Dirk with Lakers. I know Kobe is selfish player that desire win championship and need be patient and Lakers have chance to get Kevin Garnett and some other players better next year for Lakers why Kobe trade??? If Lakers get Kevin Garnett , signing some free agent players, Kobe decide may to stay Lakers will better next year. No problem Kobe like trade to Clippers I will glad. In three years ago, after Shaq gone, I want Kobe signing for Clippers that need improved playoffs.

I think Mavs should. It would be a even trade.
Mavs have tried it with Dirk and it hasnt worked.
Both arent great leaders, but Kobe has what Dirk lacks (he has the killer instinct), plus in the Avery Johnson system, Kobe will have no choice but to learn to share the ball.

No, the Mavericks are not going to trade their franchise player. But it's definitely possible the trade Josh Howard, maybe Jason Terry or Devin Harris and Stackhouse. With Kobe and Dirk on the same team, that's going to be one sick duo, and both are at their prime of their careers. But the Mavs aren't going to trade Dirk, you can count on that.

Not a chance. I would much rather have a Dirk Nowitzki on my team than a Kobe.

Maybe - but it will not be just Dirk and I doubt Cuban would want to go that extreme
I don't think Kobe and Cuban would get along very well
