Yes, but honestly some low end model fans can not take the constant use (they heat up and seize)...we have had some do fine and others take a turn for the worse. You would just have to try it and see.

Why not? Other than the electricity they use, it's fine. They help keep the air circulating through the house. Ours would run 24/7 if husband would stop turning them off at bedtime.

i have a ceiling fan in my family room that has been running for about 15 years....never turned off....blowing down in summer and up in winter.

YES. It has saved us hundreds of dollars in heating and A/C every year. It keeps the air circulating, giving you the feeling that the A/C is running, but it's not.
