i want to partition my hard drive and run xp as well, for a program that uses XP and not vista, should i?

That depends on your hard-drive space. If you have unpartitioned space on your hard-drive and don't intend to do anything with it anytime soon, then I suppose it wouldn't make much difference, but if you're already low on space, then I wouldn't recommend it. If you do not have unpartitioned space then I definately wouldn't recommend it because you'd have to wipe your hard-drive to make a new partition

Get yourself a copy of Partition Magic. It'll do the trick.
