stripping your membrane?

i am 40 weeks today and had a doctors appointment...my dr stripped my membrane. how many ppl had their membrane stripped and did it make you go into labor?

It is called - Breaking your Water-
It usually starts labor pretty quickly.

What country do you live in? Because in USA no doctor would open or strip your water unless you were in the hospital.
If baby is not delivered with in 24 hours there is a risk of infection.

I had it done twice. And both babys were born shortly there after

I had mine done at 39w and 40w and went into labor 40w4d in the afternoon. It doesnt really do anything.
