To divide by a fraction turn the 2nd one upside down and multiply:

3/4 times 4 = 12/4 = 3

5/9 times 9 = 5

3/5 times 4 = 12/5 = 2 and 2/5

1/3 times 6 = 2

8/15 times 3 = 24/15 = 1 and 3/5

Thing to know to answer these: Dividing by a number is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal.

(a/b) / (c/d) = (a/b) * (d/c)

So...

(a) (3/4)/(1/4) = (3/4)*(4/1) = 3
(b) (5/9)/(1/9) = (5/9)*(9/1) = 5
(c) (3/5)/(1/4) = (3/5)*(4/1) = 12/5 = 2 + 2/5
(d) (1/3)/(1/6) = (1/3)*(6/1) = 2
(e) (8/15)/(1/3) = (8/15)*(3/1) = 8/5 = 1 + 3/5
