wow... every Republican who says this apparently magically disappears...

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU HEARD... "they attacked us" for justification for the Iraq war... I've heard it MANY, MANY times on here?

but all of a sudden... no body has ever said that? HAHHAHA... OK?

and why didn't we finish the job of taking out al-queda first, before Iraq? isn't that a little more important... bringing those that did 9-11 to justice?

we CLEARLY didn't, since, according to Republicans, THEY are the main reason that Iraq is unstable now... in fact, they are so strong they could apparently take over the whole country if we left...

and clearly anyone who knows anything about the area and recent history knows Iran and Saudi are MUCH larger supporters of terrorists than Iraq ever was... and basically every nation in the area has some links, most as strong or stronger than Iraq's...

They didn't have a damn thing to do with it. Bush invaded as pay back for the ill faded attempt on Bush Sr's life. Rummy, Bush and Cheney have all admitted the Iraqis were not involved in 911. The used 911 as a way in. The whole invasion scenario has been twisted and convoluted since day one. Now the escalation of enemy fighters in Iraq is another excuse not to withdraw. They will never follow us back to the USA. They don't have the technology or logistics to fight us on our own soil.

No one ever made the claim that Iraw was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. You're confusing issues. The 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by Al Qaeda and their followers. It can be demonstrated however, that Arab nations like Iraq have supported terrorist groups with money and by giving safe harbor.

The Iraq War resolution was drafted for the simple reason that Saddam Hussein would not abide by the original provisions of the U.N. following the first Iraq war. After years of ignoring sanctions and kicking out the U.N. weapons inspectors, it was fairly evident that Hussein was still working on WMD's.

Don't buy into the garbage that Iraq was a peaceful nation under Saddam's watch. The man is responsible for mass killings, organized rape, and torture of olitical dissidents. The world is better off without him.

I don't know ANYONE who believes we were attacked by Iraq.
What ignorant people have you be talking to?
If you think Iraq was no problem and invading Iraq was wrong, you need to check out what Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Karry and Al Gore were saying between 1992 and 2003.
They were some of the most agressive pro-invasion politicians on record. They just didn't have the guts or character required to deal with the problem.
Too bad George Bush doesn't have the intelligence needed to deal with it correctly!

Huh? Considering that neither Bush nor anybody in his administration nor any Republican politician has EVER said that Iraqis attacked us on 9/11, and that almost all conservatives (yeah, there at nuts across the political spectrum) and Bush supporters know this, whatever made you think that we believed this at any time or that Bush ever said this?

Bush has made it quite clear from 9/11 on, that there is no evidence that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11. So, who told you this falsehood?

Irak invasion was politically motivated for two main reasons:
First Bushit junior was to finish his papa's job in Irak, second controlling Irak petrol was a strategic moves to keep emerging countries and power in check with US interests.
So all in all, Bush told lies about the real intentions behind the intervention in Irak, it is they got in Irak 10 years too early and it is why they are stuck with it now... Saddam was a tough guy, but they are much more though than him in the world and the US never went to invade them for such reasons...
WMD was a lure... Saddam was much more concern about Iran than other things, he was keeping Iran in check, but now that Irak is in disarray, the US can't do it well, and see what happen now...
Also Irak was the most advanced Arab country in middle east, women could work, Highways and transportation were top notch, equality of sex was a value and education was above most Arabe league standards... Now they can't even walk in the street, and electricity is still scarce even after 4 years of power consolidation... Did we really help Irak people... Not sure at all, I guess we accelerated our own demise and release Iran from a foe that could have prevent them from getting Nuclear technology...
Anyways, it is too late now, and complaining about it is useless, better be prepared to face the next challenges....

I never thought they did, it was clear from the start that it was the Al Qaeda Sunnis from Saudi Arabia who did it. Saddam Hussein was not a nice guy (to say the least!) but in his favor he did hate Al Qaeda. Taking him out set Iraq up to become an Al Qaeda country.

The Iraqies never attacked us on 911. In fact, 17 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. The only reason we didn't attack them is because Bush and co. are too busy being paid by oil companies who have money in Saudi Arabia. Actually quite a bit of Saudi Arabian oil money goes to people like Osama Bin Laden. Also Bin Laden owns quite a bit of stock in arms companies like lockheed-martin.

They did not attack us. Never believed it. But believed they had WMDs because Clinton bombed them for days in 1998 for the same reason. Pelosi believed they had the weapons and apparently half the dems did as they showed no political courage (my seat is too important!!!!!) to vote against the war. All in Congress Dems, and my ex-party Republicans are totally worthless!!!!
