"reality" shows or "game" shows?

Question

The thing that has always urked me about shows being called reality shows is simply this, you have a winner and several people who lose right? Isn't that what a game show is?

I watched the first season of Survivor and I really do not understand why this show is still going? I think it is dumb. I really believe that cable should create a reality tv channel and everything that is labeled as a "reality" show should be put on there and NO WHERE ELSE! There is a channel for game shows called the Game Show Network (GSN).

There is a new "reality" show coming out called Pirate (@$$) Master. To me this is nothing more than an attempt by CBS to ride the coat tails of Pirates of the Caribbean and is nothing more than Survivor on a "boat". Also if Survivor was truly "real" then there would not be a "4th wall". Reality shows to me are shows like Cops and the Medical channel that to me is reality and real life!

THANK YOU for finally stating something I've been thinking for years. Reality shows are so scripted now, they have replaced sitcoms as standard TV fare. There already is a reality cable channel and I avoid it like the plague.

I will not be watching Pirate master. That seems more like a movie then a show to me. But I only like a few reality tv show's But I like them better then games show's.
