Most definitely Australia. I wouldnt choose one of the capital cities though. I live about 30 minutes from the beach and 30 minutes from the country and the vineyards. I have the best of both worlds. It is safe, a great place to raise children, and the job prospects are pretty good too. Houses are relatively cheap to buy. You can pick up a really nice one for around $300,000. My son's girlfriend comes from New Jersey and she is cracking her neck to come live here. She said the lifestyle is a lot more lay back than where she comes from. The people are friendlier and more caring so she says. She has a young 5 year old daughter who she believes will have better chances if she were to move here. Unfortunately the only thing stopping her is the father of her child, otherwise she would move here in a flash. Its a long way to go, but if you have to re-locate somewhere, I reckon this could be the place for you. I also think we have the best beaches in the world too, so you coudnt go wrong.

Since you never mentioned what you like....
desert , mountains, plains , ocean...or what...
the only thing I can tell you is that every State
has its beauty , its heartache , its crime , and
its peaceful towns with good schools.
Many of the cities around Dallas and/or Fort
Worth, Texas have many of those qualities you've
mentioned.... and some of the cities around DFW
area also have too much crime..... just like any
other metropolitan cities . And again, you didn't
say anything about the heat or snow !!!
Good Lock in relocating !!!

Try Fort Worth or surrounding areas in Texas. real Estate prices are lower than before. Great mix of cultures. Great business opportunities also. Check it out!

I suggest looking at the east, northeastern area, like Virginia or Pennsylvania. Those areas pay well, and aren't too bad in cost of living, and the envrionment is generally laid back and the area is very pretty and packed with all kinds of educational opportunities, since the area was in the original US when we were just colonies.

There are lots of nice places that fit your parameters I'm sure but I'd still suggest giving the Orlando area a close look see.

Crestone, Colorado. http://www.crestone.org
It is a multi-cultural, spiritual community with lots of great people. It's a magnificently beautiful location and you can still buy an acre of land for about $20K. They have a great charter school too.

the terrific college districts interior the county are Del Mar Union/San Dieguito, which incorporates Carmel Valley (forget approximately approximately Del Mar appropriate--there are not many residences in that section, yet there are some in that variety in Carmel Valley counting on how many bedrooms you want) and Poway. There must be jobs in the two section. the two components are completely secure.
