I am a mom of one and I know I want another one but how far apart in age should they be? I know it will always be hard to be a mother of two+ but how far apart are your kids and how did it work out?

My first two children were 13 months apart, which means I got pregnant while my son was 4 months old. Kind of a surprise, but now he and my daughter are so close to each other they are like peas and carrots.

Having two children actually makes things easier for you because they can play together. One child will rely on you for EVERYTHING and you will be the only one there to amuse them. But having a sibling means they have a constant playmate.

I have three children now and hope God blesses us with more. There is NO ideal age to space them. Every child is a gift and each family's circumstance is different. If you have a serious reason to postpone a pregnancy, do so. But if you don't have a serious reason, then accept another bundle of joy from the Lord and give your other children a gift!

I feel like I waited to long. By the time I have this second baby my first will be four. There are pros and cons to anything. My daughter will probably be a bigger help than she will a pain. However, my kids will never go to highschool or jr high together... only elementry. When my oldest is old enough to drive she can take her brother/sister (not sure yet) to and from school and appts if I need her too. I can't really say because I haven't had this baby yet.

My children are 22 months apart and that's just perfect now they are 8 and 10. It was hard when they were under 5 together, but worth every minute.

my first 2 are 2 weeks short of being 3 years apart. my 3year old was well aware of what was going on, understood, helped out, he LOVES his baby brother to death!! my second and 3rd will be 15 months apart, so im not sure how that works out yet; lol, ill tell you in december!! its really a personal choice; there are pros and cons to them being far apart as there are pros and cons to them being close together; close they can be best friends, but youll have 2 in diapers is the main issue we though of having 2 close together! far apart, they may not be as close, plus you "start all over" but the older one can be a good role model. we hoping that our 8 month old (when he gets a bit older obviously) will see his big brother going on the potty and be quicker to potty train. good luck on your decision! you and your husband need to decide what will be best for you.

I don't have any kids but i think that a smart age would be when your 1st born is about say 4-5 so that they will understand that there is a baby in your tummy and that they are going to be a big brother or sister. They will understand better and it won't be to hard to explain to them. So i hope this helps!

i only have one child. when i have asked this question to many people, generally the consensus is 4 years is perfect. some people would say 3 years. but 4 years is good because the older child has a better understanding of how to treat a little baby and also is more able to comprehend instructions that you give him. for instance "wait a moment while i get a bottle for the baby" or "sit down here a minute while i change the baby's diaper". the older child will be better suited to even assisting you with little duties you can assign them.

Im pregnant with my first baby, so I couldnt tell you how it is having two children close together, etc. But I can tell you that my brother is 9 years older than me, and my sister is 6 years older than me, and we dont have much in common. Me and my sister fight all the time, and me and my brother just joke and dont have anything serious to say to each other.
