Everything about it is a little eerie. the lyrics, the strings, and that chorus. Yeah it's eerie alright.

I don't think it's eerie. I think it touches deep into the psyche of many people. I've used Elanor as a screen name for years and a long time ago someone asked me if I kept my face in a jar by the door. The answer to the question was definatly. Few people show the whole world exactly who they are. You use a different face for all you see and do. As for the rest of the song. Do you ever think about wether your life is meaningless and weather you've had an impact on others. I think the song is a call to take stock in your life. Look at who you are and embrace it

It`s only slightly eerie, but really upbeat. I played Eleanor in a concert recently and when the piece ended someone in the audience yells "far out".

"here Comes the sunlight". it only is. crimson Floyd is amazing, however the Beatles are extra clever. BA: "yet another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 3" crimson Floyd "fee ticket to holiday" the Beatles "the flexibility of Gold" Dan Fogelberg "All you like is Love" the Beatles "save enjoying that Rock N' Roll" Edgar iciness ha. that's humorous that the 1st 2 songs have been by skill of the Beatles and crimson Floyd.

Eleanor keeps her face in a jar by the door - I guess you could call that a bit eerie, yes.

It's meant to be an eerie song. I love it a lot, and I think it portrays a meaningful message like lonely people need friends too. The thought of it is meant to spook you.

Its a great song, I think the reason it sounds eerie is because they play it in mostly minor chords. The band Godhead did a cover thats definetally worth checking out.

If you play Eleanor Rigby backwards it predicts the 9/11 tragedy.

It's a strangely beautiful & hauntingly moody, melodic & harmonious song; nothing eerie about it as far as I'm concerned!
