This is just hypothetical. I am not in this situation. I will try to use less [.] from now on. I didnt realize how annoying it is to some people. Thanks for all the great answers so far!

I would love that significant other for who she is not what team she likes so it wouldn't bug me at all.

I feel your pain. My wife is a Packer fan and I'm a Vikings fan. We have been happily married for 25 years.
We just don't sit together to watch the Vikes and Pack play each other and we're fine. If you truly love each other, you can get past it.

I know you're probably talking about the Red Sox and Yankees, but the Vikes/Packers rivalry is just as big here.

Trust me. You are not annoying. This question gets asked in bars, and college campuses all the time and they same results are gathered.

Not to offended anyone here. Only young immature or really bitter Red Sox female fans actually follow that moronic rule that should have never been made up. It is so childish

Red Sox men, Yankee men and women fans don't care.

I think it all depends on how die hard a fan is and the way they cheer for their team. If they don't care about the other team that much and only care about their team winning, it has a better chance of working than if one fan has a pure hate of the other team.

Supposedly love conquers all. Maybe when there's a head-to-head series, a few friendly wagers regarding who has to do various domestic chores (cook dinner, vacuum, etc.) might be in order. Or there's always the kissing* bet.

And it doesn't just have to be on win/lose. Home runs, the run spread in the ninth (to discourage either one from turning off the game in disgust), bonus wagers on miraculous comebacks... be creative, think fun.

*More like "kissing, etc."

If the perfect mate was a die-hard fan of the enemy, then break up with them. If they are a fairwheather, an occasional fan essentially, then I guess it's ok to bear for some time. If it's getting on your nerves a lot, break up.

it sort of feels to me that God understanding is a blessing bestowed upon us as quickly as each and every fibre of our being longs to be in communion with God. it quite is a feeling of being crammed with the Holy Spirit. We see and sense with new eyes, and a clean heart. Our hearts are lifted so as that they overflow with exhilaration. there's a deep experience of peace that not something can disturb, and all of us understand that we are in communion with a potential that's so loving so compassionate that not something can ever disturb it. there's a feeling of awe and sweetness and oneness as quickly as we glance upon any of God's introduction. there is likewise a deep experience of organic gratitude that the bounty of this blessing brings, because of the fact it brings us abode to God. Theologically and educationally that's not quite user-friendly to place into words because of the fact that's not skilled with the strategies, or any section human beings which could communicate very definitely that's real essence. It in basic terms IS. It comes from a place that's previous words. :) :) :)

Any man who let's baseball get in the way of a great girl is a fool.

I would never date a Yankee fan and therefore couldnt fall in love with one. Being a Yankee fan is like smoking a cigarette (sorry if you smoke), its just unattractive to me. But if I somehow did date someone and fell in love with them and then found out they were a Yankee fan I would not leave them, I just wouldnt watch baseball with them.

Hell no. I know plenty of couples that are Sox and Yankee fans.

The only ones thay have a problem with it is girl Sox fans that are dumb enough to actually say she won't date a Yankee fan even if she likes him. ( littleitaly1377 ) Prime example.

That has to be the stupidest sh!t I've ever heard of. Grow up! What are you in grade school.

Men Sox fans and Yankee fans of either sex don't give a damn.
