You find out the sex of the baby around 20 weeks. They will probably do an ultrasound on your first visit to see if everything is healthy, then another ultrasound at 20 weeks. They will do more if there are any complications. At every appt, they will check to hear the baby's heartbeat, and you'll hear it too! Also, at every appt. they will take a urine sample and your blood pressure and weight to make sure everything is going smoothly. The urine sample will tell all kind of things, like if you have any infections or what-not, which can be harmful to the baby.

Enjoy your pregnancy, and CONGRATULATIONS!

I actually just went in for my 12 week scan and everything came out measuring correctly. While I was there, they asked if I wanted to know the sex and I was shocked to find out that soon. Right now it is 80% correct. I will go back in 5 weeks to do another scan.

If the baby is willing to let you see its sex you can find it out at your 18-20 week ultrasound.

They do blood test to check for any defects, but the only problem is that defects can come by doing these test.

The most commonly used method to find out the sex of your baby is ultrasound or sonogram. This method is most accurate between 18-22 weeks
