You need a ton more of ramm and you need a video card to play games well. You only have integrated video.
Your system, AS is, will play unreal, but not play it well.

That setup should be able to play Unreal 2. The real question is if you should play Unreal 2. I was very disappointed with it. I would rather play through Half Life 2 again, or if you are looking for an older game, try No One Lives Forever 2.

You can upgrade the hard drive, but you may have to partition it. ( at one time xp was limited to 137 gig partitions, but that may have been fixed with service packs.) You can not upgrade your cpu to the one you want. You may be able to upgrade to something better than you have depending on your motherboard, but given the age of the equipment this might not be an economical option. If you have the money to spend, the cheapest new motherboard, memory, and cpu you can get will be much faster than the fastest thing you can put on your current board ( assuming a socket 478) and faster than all but the best of the 775s.

You need to have a video card, at least 128 mb, Radeon 9 series or higher, Geforce 6 series or higher. Everything else is okay to run games.

480MB RAM suggests that you have integrated video, which shares system memory (it's using 32MB right now) and will suck for gaming. You will need a video card, but I need more information before I can make a recommendation. What kind of computer (brand and model, or the motherboard model if you built it yourself) do you have?

Your processor is good enough for the majority of games out there, you will need to atleast double the amount of RAM you have to run most games smoothly.

What is your graphics card? Every thing else is great and would run it no problem though a ram upgrade wouldn't hurt, try crucial.com's memory scanner.

I think the 256MB you refer to is the Video ram.
XP minimum is 512MB and 1024MB (1GB) is better.
