Ideally you take it in the morning so the peak effect is during the part of the day the at tends to be most stressful. "The antihypertensive effect may diminish toward the end of the dosing interval." And... "Following oral administration of lisinopril, peak serum concentrations occur within about 7 hours. Declining serum concentrations exhibit a prolonged terminal phase which does not contribute to drug accumulation. "
So, AM dosing is better, but PM dosing is better than not at all! You might try an alarm, either on a watch or a cell phone, that's set to go off and remind you to take your meds. No stalling. It goes off, you take your pill, thus it becomes automatic.

It's sometimes hard to get into a routine. I don't think it makes any difference when you take it as long as you take it every day at around the same time. Dinner time may not be the best choice in case you have visitors or go out for dinner and there is an interruption in your schedule. You always wake up and you always go to bed. Those two things are for sure. For me it is before I go to bed. For one thing if I am going to have some reaction to a medication, I won't notice if I am sleeping (at least that's what I think) but it is also easier to stop yourself just before you are ready to lie down, and think what do I need to do before I go to sleep. Works for me.

Well, I take mine in the morning. I keep the pill bottle right next to other things I use every morning. That way, it's easy to remember because I see it! I think morning is a much better time to take blood pressure medication.

I have a friend that is on that prescription and she takes it at night and has no problems. I take Verapamil for my high blood pressure and I have to take it first thing every morning or my BP will get high and I will get a headache. Also with mine, when I take a second one (when BP gets high) if I take it late in the day I have really crazy dreams. Weird I know...but true!

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.
