How can i make my luteul phase longer? I only have a short one every other month, so is there is anything that i can do to make it longer on those months? I would prefer not to have to go to the doctor, so is there anything i can take, or eat or something that can help?

You might have what's called Luteal Phase Deficiency and it might be due to elevated levels of the hormone prolactin.

Nutrition and supplements can help overcome your short luteal phase. Vitamin B6 (about 200-600 mg per day) has helped many women.

There is also something called The PMS Diet which is explained in Chapter 5 of a book called Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon. The diet consists of limiting certain foods like sugar and caffeine and dairy, and relying more on fish, poultry and whole grains.

This book has been SO helpful for me with all kinds of cycle irregularities. You could find it easily on Amazon or Ebay, I bet.
