There is no AGP or PCI slot, so there won't be a place to install a video card... that's the thing about E-Machines... they save you money at the purchase by skimping out on details like upgrades later !!!

From the eMachine website, your using "Intel® Extreme Graphics 3D 64MB Shared memory" which indicates that it is shared memory and integrated into your motherboard. You don't have a card to remove in this case. What you are looking for is an AGP slot (or possibly a PCI slot if you bought that type of video card, but it isn't as common).

The second document I linked doesn't have any good pictures but I included it just incase you need to locate any other information for the system.

As for locating the AGP slot, this is generally located along with several PCI slots on a typical motherboard and is closest to the processor. The third link includes a typical motherboard (yours will be different but it will give you an idea of what you are looking for).

After installing the card, you may need to enter the BIOS when the system first boots up. My eMachine died a few weeks ago or I'd give better instructions but I'd first just try installing the AGP and see if it automatically switches over to the new card. If you find that it isn't picking it up automatically, you'll need to go through the options and look for an entry that deals with Video or AGP.

If you look in the back of the computer there should be a cable connecting the monitor to the video card. The video card receptacle plug should have 15 pins and be blue.

turn off the monitor and computer, wait 15 secs.
then disconnect the monitor, open the computer access cover and see which card the video monitor was plugged into.
check to see if your video car has a plastic tab to lock the video card in place, it should be located at the bottom of the card towards the front of the computer. Pull the tab up and towards the rear of the computer if you have one. Unscrew the metal tab that connects the video card to the metal computer case and pull the video card up.
Reverse the procedure for installation.

where do you plug the monitor data cable?
follow the cable from the monitor and see where it goes

there's 2 possabilities

1. the card is builtin with the mainboard( motherboard)
2. there is a card placed in a slot in the mainboard (it is different than the others) { color or place or size}

well i dont know spec to your machine. but easiest way is to look where your monitor is pluged into and thats where is it. its possible you had an integrated vid card meaning itwas part of the motherboard which also means you dont have to remove anything. just put the new one in!
