how do i get my ip with out going on line? i just hooked up my comp and laptop to a router, but only the comp comes on. i called the cable company and they needed my ip but by windows prosser would not release it.

Open the command prompt and type "ipconfig"...Start > Run > type "cmd". This will open the command prompt.

You can use one of the links below, just enter the ip address and it will give you the geographical location.

If your computer and laptop are hooked up to a router..
You will have to get the internet IP address from the ROUTER!

There will be only one WAN (wide area address) and it will be in the status page of the router.. it will not show on your machines as they will only show LAN addresses!

Start--->Run--->type "CMD"--->type "ipconfig" press
this is if u wanted to show ur ip
but
if u wanna put feed the ip to ur computer and make it static u go like that:

start--->control panel--->network connections---> right click on "local area connection"--->properties
and there u can input the ip address, the subnet mask, the desault gateway and the dns data

You can't find your IP or you can't release and renew your IP?
