just curious - our american gov. always preaches that they are separate but they clearly arent completely : "in god we trust" on the money, "under god" in the pledge, no gay marriage, etc. im christian but i think all these should be changed. there needs to be no evidence of religion in state affairs...YES WE ALL KEEP HEARING THE SAME SHITTY STORY : american was founded under christianity blah blah blah...it was also founded on inequality and degredation for women, slavery, racism, imperialism, killing ppl for their land, etc. so are all these okay as well? point blank - we want a government. not a ******** church. as far as public school goes - its the same. im inprivate school but from what i hear from my friends there needs to be a course that educates students about several religions but doesnt encourage the membership of any; hearing ppl say things like "muslims are all terrorists" makes me want to hit ppl : (

Separation of Church and State just means that Christianity or any religion should not influence the way the government runs, so yes I do think they should be separate.
"In God We Trust" and "under God" doesn't do that at all...it just makes references to America's past, and the Founding Fathers WERE Christian.
And I don't know what religion has to do with racism or slavery...actually, Christianity teaches against those but whatever.
By the way I go to public school and no one ever forces us to pray or even say the pledge if we don't want to.

Separation of church and state means that the government isn't run by a specific religious group. Calm down your way to angry over something that doesn't even effect you in a major way. if you want to learn about religion go to the library. It's free. And stop belly aching about our countries history or get out.

I am a believer in the separation of Church and State. no one should have the right to tell another how to worship or not as this is up to the individual. as far as your other comments are concerned I may not agree with them but I will defend with my life your right to say them as this is your right as a citizen of the USA.

Yes, there is no reason why homophobes and other religious bigots should be able to influence the laws of the land
