Well...I guess you got an earful of Yankee answers so far huh?...I am not going to give the same answer though...I think that generally Red Sox fans get along with all other fans that are loyal to their teams...I know a lot of people say..."no way...i hate Y fans" but, if you are a true fan of the game, you will have respect for any fan that is a true and loyal fan no matter what team they root for..I dont like obnoxious fans from any team not just one in particular...For some reason, Red Sox fans seem to have an affinity for Mets fans and there is nothing wrong with that..Maybe we just respect each other???
And bash me all you want people..I am a pacifist...lol...

I guess they both hate the Yankees so much they do not have enough hatred for themselves including when the '86 Mets beat the Red Sox

Im going to say its because they both hate that yankees and because theyve been lovable screw ups for many years until now.
By the way the thumbs up thumbs down box is in case somebody makes a bad arguement not one you dont like. Whoever is doing it quit giving negative ratings simply for saying both teams hate the yankees. It makes perfect sense and its really not even making fun of the yankees either.

Everyone needs a common denominator to get along. The common denominator with regard to Mets and Red Sox fans is simple:
THEY ALL HATE THE YANKEES!
I wish all of life's questions could be so easily answered!

Nice trying to jedi mind trick children into believing that crap!
Too bad for you us adults know better.
They don't. In fact they go at it much rougher. Mets fans constanlty remind Red Sox fans how the Sox blew games 6 and 7 with leads! Buckner may have lost game 6 but he did not blow game 7.
Yet another New York team that owns the Red Sox.

Where did you get this BS from? Mets fans have no love for the Red Sox at all. So get off this let's bash the Yankees bandwagon you jumped on.

Who said they get along?
Mets fans can't mention Bill Bucker and Yankee fans can't mention Bucky Dent around die hard Red Sox fans.
In both cases Boston went home losers at the hand of a team from New York.

Well, the Sox and Yankees have a long history together, wheareas the Mets and Red Sox only have '86. Last season, I was pulling for the Mets to get the World Series. I felt bad for them when they lost to the Cardinals in Game 7 of NLCS. This season, I watch them whenever they are on TV, because they have a great team. I don't use '86 against them, because there's so little to dislike about them.
