Ummm...the crickets we have around here in South Dakota are a brownish-black...and I have no idea what kind of cricket they are...

I'm not a cricket fanatic..but where i live the crickets that i see are a brownish/black color...the green ones are grasshoppers at least that's the only way i know of them..

All the adult crickets I've ever seen in the U.S. were black.

Ohhhh, you mean "cricket", the sport! I have no idea -- we play baseball on this side of the pond.
