They won't win the Wild Card as there are too many good teams in the AL Central and it will be very hard to catch Boston in the AL East. Are they done?

Ballz,
Explain why most of the teams in the Central are doing better than the Yankees right now. The Yankees may have talented hitters, but they lack defense, pitching, chemistry, and management. I would bet on any AL Central team (even the Royals) against the Yankees any day.

I don't believe they are done. Think about it, we aren't even close to half way through the season. So 14 1/2 games isn't much. Plus these are THE YANKEES. I don't like them but you have to admit, with all the money they have spent, and ARod...playoffs should be a possibility at all times.

Well I personally dont think the Central is good compared to the Yankees talent wise. If the Yankees get some team chemistry going and can gain some confidence they will get the wild card because of the unbalanced schedule.
Well like I said the Yankees just need to get their confidence back and if that happens they have better pitching and hitting than any Central team. Clevelands closer is Joe Borowski for crying out load, he wouldnt last a second against a confident Yankee lineup.

The Yankees will improve, yes, but they will most likely still miss the playoffs. At some point their hitting will explode, and their starting pitching may fix itself as well, but the bullpen will still be in shambles.
And unless the Sox and/or Indians and Tigers cooperate, by the time the Yankees start turning it around, it'll be much too late.
I'm not going to say the season's already over for them, because obviously there's still plenty of season left for them to turn it around, but to the same effect, they've dug themselves into a hole they're not getting out of.

What are you nuts? Give up?
Crazier comebacks have happened. I abhor the Yankees, but c'mon--we're only a 1/3 of the way through the season.
The term Yankee Pride didn't stick out of coincidence.
Get real.

YES!! the yankees are done. They are tied for last in the american league east, and the team they are tied with has a lower team payroll, then the Yankees "savior" Roger Clemens. If you have to pay $28 million to a 44 yr old pitcher more than 3 years removed from the AL, then you are done. My prediction is that Cashman will be fired by the end of the year, but Torre will be fired in the next 3 years.

Yes, they're is only 120 plus games left. I guess that means they are mathematically out of it. Give me a break!! The Yankees, with all their problems can a will fix it. The Red Sox have yet to have a down time as all teams have during the course of a season. Of course there is plenty of time to right the ship. Never forget what happened in 1978. You might even want to remember what happened last season. As I recall the same hoop-la was coming from the Red Sox camp until that 5 game set in mid August. Seems like the Red Sox were never heard from again.

Its not even the All-Star Break yet don't worry. The Red Sox will melt in the second half. Yankees get in again.

YESS!!!!!!! the yankees are finished. They won't make the playoffs. They've lost way too much ground to even have a chance. They are tied for last place with TAMPA BAY for Pete's sake. The yanks are 14.5 games out of first, and they're 8.5 back of the Tigers for the wild card.

Well ballz, you are wrong. The Tigers and Cleveland have better talent, that is why they are winning. The Yankees are not that good. Period.
