This trip will be for my 87 year old Grandmother, my mother and myself. My gran doesn't want to stay above the 3rd floor. We prefer to each have our own bed. We are splitting this trip three ways. We don't want to spend over about $30 or $40 EACH per night. Any ideas? Also would like ocean front property.

$30-$40 EACH per night means $90 to $120 per night total.

The tourist season ends around the first of October so it shouldn't be to hard to find some inexpensive places to stay.
I used to do fire alarm inspections on the hotels/condos there during the winter months because no one was there except for the snowbirds around Christmas time.

Gulf Shores has a lot of condos that fall in your price range for this time of year. I would check www.vrbo.com and see what is available by owner since often times you can find a better deal than with a management company. There are some older complexes in West Beach that have been completely redone since the hurricane but are still inexpensive. I have stayed in one at Sun Chase that was updated, but not pricey - the complex does have parking underneath, so you would want to stay second floor and below.

I would recommend my unit, but it is on the 16th floor!

The Indies in Fort Morgan, Al- sunsetproperties.com - It is great and about 20 min to Gulf Shores. I am going there in Aug. and it is 399.00 for the week $603 with taxes and cleaning cost. 3 bedroom and 2 bath. VERY nice Good luck. You can do that for 29.00 per person per night!!

at 30-40 dollars a night you are not going to get ocean front so forget that idea . I would say motel 6's are pretty nice and they are comfortable .

depends what you call pricey. i have stayed at the hilton garden inn there before the hurricanes made a mess of things. dont know what the rates are now, but if you want a view of the beach and gulf you have to ask for it. more expensive of course. nice place, but like everything else over there, its tourist driven and a lot of tourist traps. lots of mediocre but expensive restaurants. beach and water are great.
