Absolutely...if you don't keep some form of wax or other paint protectant on your car, the paint will begin to oxidize. Same goes for the headlight lenses and the windows. They will become "hazy" and you will get permanent water spots. The same can happen if the car isn't dried after being washed. It is never good to let ANY water stand on the paint surface.

Yes. The sun will use the water drops like little magnifying glass and burn thru the paint. Keeping the car well waxed and drying it off will really help save it.

Not unless you're in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh or anywhere there's a high concentration of acid (ever hear of acid rain?).
