Daffodils and Tulips both need to be planted in the fall to ensure bloom. They will usually bloom in early fall. Daffodils when taken care of properly usually come back each year. Daffodils usually do not last very long. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

1) Daffodils only bloom once a year, in early spring. The reen part of the plant will stay alive for a while afterward, but no new blooms will grow. Make sure you do not remove the leaves as the plant uses them to generate energy is stores in its bulb so that it can bloom next year.

2) If the Tulips have not bloomed yet, they most likely wont, it is too late in the year for them. They generally bloom in late april. And yes, this isprobably because they were planted too late to bloom this year.

But dont worry, just like the daffodils, if you leave them alone to die back on their own you will get flowers next spring.

Daffodils only bloom once a year. Same with tulips. If you live in a mild winter area where it rarely freezes then you need to keep the tulip in the refrigerator for six weeks before planting. Do this in the winter and plant immediately in the ground when the come out of the 'fridge. If you want the tulips to bloom again next year you will have to dig them up and do the same thing next years.

hi,
daffodils only bloom once a season. As for the tulips it could be a number of things. Planting them in the spring may have been one, tulips need a cold period to bloom, so they must be planted in the fall. The other common cause for bulb plants not blooming is that they are planted too deep. for more information check out this website.

also another important thing to remember is to not cut the leaves off after the blooms die, until they start to turn brown. They are helping the buld store energy for the following year

Yes, daffodils bloom only once a season. Same for tulips. Bulbs need the cold, so planting them in the fall is best. I've heard of forcing them in the fridge, but never tried it.

Your daffodils will not bloom again this year. Let them be - the leaves need to gather energy for next year's blooms. If they look really ugly, tie the leaves together will a rubber band. You can cut them back to the ground when they turn brown.

Your tulips will bloom later than usual since you planted them late (spring). Just wait. If you didn't fertilize when you planted, you could do that now, and then again after they bloom. Tulips love fertilizer.

Daffodils are one shot. They will not bloom again until after the winter has chilled them and next spring arrives.

The tulips may be,as you figured, a problem of planting too late. Fertilize them to promote next year's flowers. This one is gone.

The daffadils will not bloom again until next spring.

I would say you planted the tulips too late (you plant those in the fall, not spring). If tulips do not go through a cold stage, they do not bloom.

And other posters on here who warned you to NOT cut down green leaves of daffadils and tulips are very correct. Leave the leaves on until they die down naturally. The leaves are producing the food that the bulb will use for next year.

They both typically bloom early. If you just planted your tulips they may not bloom at all this season. Once either of them have bloomed you can go ahead and trim them down, you will not see more of their beauty until next year. But aren't they wonderful while they are blooming!
