I not only believe in Ghosts, but also in Demons, and imps. Why? Because I've seen all three.

First incident: Ghost
I was working as a night (5pm-1am) radiology tech in a small hospital in central Texas. One night, as I was walking the small 15-20 bed hospital, I was heading toward what was at that time, surgery. As I turned the corner, I saw what looked to be a man walking into the surgical area. I followed him, and was a bit unnerved when he just disappeared. After searching the surgical bay for exits to the outside, and not finding any, I went to the nurses station and asked if anyone had seen the guy going into surgery.
One of the nurses turned to the other and then simply said, "Oh yes, that was Mr. XXXXX. He died 10 years ago, when that part of the hospital was patients rooms. We see him every two weeks or so."

Incident two: Demon
I was staying with a friend, at his apartment, during college, when sometime around midnight, I felt a chill in the air. I rolled over on the couch and looked up. Where there had been two candleholders sans candles, I now saw two glowing red eyes, and smelt sulpher. After taking a moment to get my breath, I looked back up and the thing was still there, only this time, I saw smoke and heard deep malevolent laughter.
Instead of running away, I casually spoke to it, "I think it's time you leave." The thing actually laughed at me again.
When I spoke again, I did so with the force of faith in Jesus behind me. "In the name of Jesus Christ, get your shaggy **** out of here." And this time, it made a disappointed sound and vanished, sulpher, flames, and all.

Incident three: Imp
I was driving home one night, past a graveyard, when I thought I ran over something. That was my first impression, however, that's not what caused me to stop. It was the fact that this thing seemed to pass through the car and was still standing in the middle of the road.
When I turend and looked, it seemed to vanish into thin air.

Why do I believe in ghosts, demons, and imps? It's because of my christian faith. We are taught that there is God and there is Satan. Then there are angels, and Demons. From there, it isn't a stretch to believe that there are disembodied spirits hanging around.

"Orbs" are reflections of light off of small particles in the air. Nothing supernatural about that. And if you stare in the dark for some time, you can start to sense little spots of faint color/light if you are still and concentrate. But those are just artifacts of our imperfect vision, nothing more. Our eyes can definitely play tricks on us.

As of yet there is absolutely no evidence which supports the existence of ghosts, only unsubstantiated ghost stories. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence (e.g., "orbs" don't quite qualify!), and so far the evidence is sorely lacking. I would love to see any evidence but nobody seems to have any.

If ghosts did exist, I would surely like to encounter one. However, I won't be holding my breath.

I was walking around St Augustine on the harvest moon taking pictures of all the cemetaries. We have a picture of a figure in the center pathway straight from the gates going towards the Bishops tomb. If I am able to find the photo I will scan it and post it.

I was working in my Darkroom one night (2:30 AM) in the basement of an old school house. I was the only person in the whole building.
I turned on the light and my briefcase was sitting in the middle of the floor. I thought to myself "I don't remember setting that there" I moved it to it's normal spot and about 30 minutes later after printing some more prints I turned on the light and my briefcase was sitting in the middle of the floor again!
I got a chill and hair stood up on my neck,,,,but I wasn't afraid. I think it was a poltergeist (Prankster ghost)

Yes, I do believe in them, having had a couple of encounters before. People ask me how I can believe in ghosts and be an atheist also. All I can say is that I am not sure what a ghost is exactly, but they do exist.

Yes. I was showing my wife jayne how to use our new meter, as I looked back at her on the stair were she sat, I saw a mans head looking over her shoulder, she turned and (after her trousers changed colour) ran in the kitchen. We, 15 Min's later sat chatting about it, when in walked our son asking who the man with white hair was on the stairs.
Ive got a strange idea, I believe maybe your dreams are real and ghosts are actually peoples minds while they sleep.

"The implications of a realization that we are “surrounded by a cloud of witnesses” are enormous – and, I might add, incredibly hopeful at large."-- Klaus Heinemann, Ph.D.
