You're not weird at all. It's perfectly natural to still be in shock & fear, but truthfully, that's what the barbarians who carried out such an evil plot, want us to feel. Try to put your mind at ease & try not to be so fearful or these barbarians have accomplished what they set out to do.

In all honesty, no, I don't think you're weird for that. Many people were affected in major ways by that day. For some people, they were in the area and could never forget it.. For others, they knew people that lived in New York, etc.. For some.. They may even been very shocked seeing the sight of the USA being attacked on TV, etc..
It was a horrible event.. It is a day that most will never forget. Of course, I hope it never happens on American soil again, but it is understandable at the same time to be concerned about it, etc because you never know what is going on in the world.
You're definitely not weird. I do hope though that it's not affecting you so bad that you're unable to do things, etc.. (Then I guess to it would depend on where you were and what effects it had on you and those you knew as well).. but I would say if it affects your every day life (the fears, etc).. A good thing would be to seek a counselor.. Someone that can help you with the fears.. I don't mean that in a bad way either.. I just mean that because it is so rough to live with fears.. that having the ability to talk about them and possibly get rid of (or lower) some of them.. would be healthy for you.
But.. never forget it happened.. When people forget, it makes the country less safe again I think.

Id be more in shock about what the media turned it into. Or how about the fact that knowbody REALLY knows what happened. I work at a school that teaches alot of east indian students and I cant even believe how poorly they are treated by some people after 9/11.

We are all "traumatized" . How can we not be "weirded out" by any global event whether it be a kidnapped American child from a Portugal hotel room or a random shooting on the corner of a major city. In Israel every citizen considers themselves a soldier. We should all be vigilant in our immediate surroundings. With instant communication we are all brought to the forefront to all sorts of disasters and genocide. Educate yourself and be prepared. Have confidence that your friend or neighbor will have your back as they will be thankful when you are there for them in time of need.

I think unless you are actually terrified and have psychological issues its relatively normal to still disbelieve that such events could happen here to people like you and I - not soldiers or people in faraway lands. Of course the fear is relevent - it could happen again anywhere anytime - we dont know who are the crazy people plotting things out there.

no. you have a legitimate reason to be afraid. We were living in Yonkers,NY when it happened and my mother-in-law was about to come live with us. she wouldn't move after she heard 9/11 was right by us.
it could have been a blessing, but no you are not weird.

Nope there are a lot of people like that. I would consider seeing a therapist though so you might not feel as afraid.
