In a democracy it has to be the people. Unfortunately, right now it is the corporations that have the power. Until we stop them from funding elections we will never have a true democracy.

It has the same meaning, a collection of people who are selected forms a government, similarly a group of people forms the corporation and a majority of people who lives in a place forms a society.
US who is concentrating its power it is called super power that's why it is affecting and dominating every where, wherever they intend to intervene without realizing sovereignty freedom and its people safety and security. There is no power against them. In early 80s there was 2nd super power which was known as USSR now due to its dis-integrity its strength has been lost that's why US does what seems them fit. So there is nothing to say for the concentrated it has.

Government is suppose to keep the peace, make sure justice is served, and better our country and states thru taxes paid. They are also not suppose to be manipulating our tax dollars to pay for things we disapprove of and yes, there are many programs out there that are corrupt. There are noticable parts of government that don't have a reason to be or be doing what they are doing which is taring families into shreds.
People should be voting with wisdom and doing the best they can - given the information they have - to vote in spiritually healthy government officials. This is because a spiritually lacking government creates codepency which means too many dollars spent on corporations with the government feeding into itself more than anything. We have Republicans in office and due to liberalism change is very slow but what is a liberal republican? What's up with that mess?

The Constitution makes clear that power is supposed to rest with the people. Corporations snuck in because legally they are a person, and they used the 14th amendment to expand their
powers.
The government is supposed to have a "Checks and balances" system, where one branch oversees the other, but that has not been done.
The corporations now have the power, a creation of the government is running it.

The United states of America is a Republic, the people are the rulers, democracy is the worse form of government there is, the only thing worse is a Dictatorship like we are in now, if you think democracy is great you are severely brainwashed.

Should be the people, but we give our power away when we allow politicians to be bought and supported by large corporations in exchange for favors that end up attached to a worthy proposition to be voted on.
To get us back to democracy, help support a consuption tax instead of income tax. It leaves the polititions little to fight over and they may get back to serving the people.

The power rest with the people unless they are ignorant of what is available to them. Most people do not know what all the amendments are or what is written in the constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Know what you believe!
