Hello.Dancing and gymnastics are very similiar. Could you involve yourself in that activity? You would keep supple and still be able to dance later. when I was in Dance School in England, we still had to do regular lessons as well as Ballet,Drama, Elocution etc. So don't think it's all pleasure. It's really hard work.Parents are slow to understand our needs, they want what's best for you.Working hard for them, will lead to you making your own decision later. Good Luck!

Even if you hate school, you will still need the skills of reading, writing and arithmetic. You need to protect yourself in that dancing world. There are a lot of people that will be willing to take advantage of you if you don't know how to read a contract, figure out percentages and a lot of other stuff. If you want to open a studio someday, then you'd better have some business classes under your tutu also.Dance college will maybe require student loans and scholarships.A lot of scholarships require you to write essays in addition to dance experience.
