If you are looking to do outdoor bonsai, you've already got a few good listings in the other responses. However, if you're looking to do indoor bonsai, you should look at this place:

http://www.fukubonsai.com/

They have a lot of info on indoor bonsai. I started out on their site a few years ago, and have 6 bonsai that have lasted 3 years.

Good luck with your bonsai.

Contrary to what many people believe, Bonsai are not that difficult to grow, so long as you spend an hour or two reading on how to take care of them.

most people kill theirs because they cant be bothered to do any research and then end up keeping outdoor plants inddors.

Here are two more sites to add to the other posters list. The first is a site with MANY articles walking you through each step of different parts of bonsai care.

The second site is a free forum where you can ask quesitons and get advice.

Believe me, there's nothing free about bonsai.

Just look up bonsai on google, there are myriad sites on the internet to guide you along.

You will kill many before you are successful. After a while, you will get some to live, only to have them die when you forget to water them for a week. Then you will remember why plastic plants are good.

Actually, I have about a dozen bonsai now that are doing very well. It takes a lot of patience, constant attention, and some luck to get them to a point where they look good. Don't get too caught up in all the "proper" forms right away, just get something to live. Once you get that part down, then you can start getting fancy.
