May have a negligible effect.

What would be more effective you may ask.

If the MP's stopped gassing hot air, the ozone layer would repair itself within seconds. We would then also plunge into the next ice age and there would be an eco tax on solar panels, and fridge-freezers.
Coal would be tax free and BioGas would be as expensive as petrol is now.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

Don't know what your on about. Sure cow's and sheep are responsible for 1/5 of the damaging gas's released into the atmosphere.

I'm from Ireland and smoke. The ban isn't that bad. If your in a pub and you smoke you can go outside and chat up women. Great way to introduce yourself, "Fecking smoking ban", "have you a light" and the like.

Only bad think about it though is the amount of butt's outside, doesn't look great.

Starting at midnight tonight they are banning the sale of cigarettes in 10 packs too (In Ireland). So wait for that one yourselves.

Any combustion of any nature affects global warming it is know as carbon emission.
Smoking is not a natural practise neither is chewing or spitting gum all over the place, ban them together with dog fouling they are all anti social acts conducted by the moronic element of society.

Not really. The net effect will be to cut down on the amount of smoking taking place. It doesn't really matter if it's inside or outside.

no, cars and buses emit far more toxic fumes than *** smoke, sorry, the rise in asthma and lung related diseases can also be traced along the with the rise in automobile use. its a fact ppl dont like but a fact none the less.

It smells and is completely pointless and a bit sad to be honest.
And yes it will help prevent global warming (though not to a huge degree) as less crap going into the atmosphere

lol good point i never thought about that...
but if the weather stays the same as it is now the filthy b astards won't wanna go outside so they won't smoke at all. hurray!

smoking is one the most unsociable things you could do. bad teeth, bad breath, mouth like a cat's ar*e and face like a screwed up paper bag. lovely. and it DOES contribute to global warming. only a tiny bit though. think of all the trees cut down to make the papers for them...i hate smokers. they should die. oh and they should pay for their health on the NHS too :) i could go on...

??? How do you work that one out, then? I mean, I know the addicts of the weed are desperate for anything that makes this long overdue ban seem bad, but this has got to be the weakest ever!!
