When is waiting fun?

I'm compiling a list of things that are fun waiting for. Here's some examples:

* I like to wait until I eat my entire fortune cookie before reading the fortune.

* When converting an entire CD to mp3s, I like to wait for them to finish converting before listening to any of the songs.

* In the morning during rush hour in Chicago, sometimes I like to wait for everyone ahead of me to go up the stairs first and then I run up the empty stairs.

What are some of the things you enjoy waiting for?

I like waiting for everyone else in the elevator to vacate before me.

I like waiting for the toast in the toaster. My toaster doesn't pop-up, it just shuts off. When the cycle is done, I like to wait for the residual heat to remove any excess moisture and thereby really "toasting" the bread.

I like waiting for thunder. When lightning strikes I like to count until it thunders.

I like waiting for my turn at the barber. It's relaxing watching other people get their haircut and flipping through magazines.

As another user stated, waiting for rollercoasters is fun. I also like being in anticipation for an awesome band to take the stage. It's also fun to wait for a phone call to confirm a date for later in the evening, or even waiting for your date to arrive! Right now I'm waiting for a phone call letting me know that the restoration of my 1965 motorcycle is complete. It's fun to know that I'm going to have a classic bike soon, and I know the wait will be very worthwhile.

Pretty much anything that you find exciting or extremely worthwhile is fun to wait for. Personally for something worth it, I don't like to know exactly how long the wait will be--just that it is coming soon and I'm kept in limbo until... well, the phone rings!
