The boy who is Elizabeth and Will's son and the one who gets hanged at the very beginning look very similar right?
It could just be me but do you reckon they're the same person and it's some plot thing? Like Will saved him or something from being dead maybe?! I don't know!
Please someone else tell me that you agree, and if you have any theories?

This is the exact same answer I posted to a similar question
According to IMDB.com a boy named Dominic Scott Kay played Will Jr. and a boy named Brendyn Bell played the boy singing at the beginning of the movie. You have to read the message boards at the bottom of each actor's IMDB page.
P.S. A boy named Dylan Smith played young Will Turner in the first movie.

That crossed my mind too, but I don't think they could be the same person. That would leave a huge question unanswered (hey, it's not the only one) and leave us in need of a Pirates 4, which I don't think many people actually want. And if I happen to be one of them... I'm just a sucker for Johnny Depp. By the way, for all those who didn't realise Will and Elizabeth even had a son - watch the scene after the credits. It will make you feel better about the ending.

To the ppl who answered before me. It was after the credits. You had to stay and watch about 30 minutes of credits. To see Ms. Swann and a boy walking on the beach then a flash of green light and it said 10 yr later.
I don't think it is a plot thing...I think the kids just look similar. I think if the do another movie it will be in "the new world" looking for the fountain of youth!

They couldn't have been the same kid, because the kid in the beginning was hanged, and even if he was somehow rescued, the clip after the credits says that it's 10 years later, so by then the kid from the beginning would have been around 20 years old.

Its not a Plot thing...Kids under 10 look all the same to me anyway (I had tonns of trouble watching Harry Potter)
