Well, this is gonna sound patronizing unless you read it through, but the best organization for that is your family. Second to that is your church.

Okay, so circumstances got away from you somehow, you made a bad choice, you got conned, you're a surviving widow of a man with no insurance, whatever got you where you are, there's not much you can do to change that. However, unless you have absolutely no relatives, you need to think about your relationship with them, and do what you have to do to re-join the family and they can probably help with free babysitting, gas money occassionally, etc. That's what makes families good, is they are a built-in support group. If your relationship with yours is broken, fix it. You may not like having to humble yourself or move back to Iowa to be close to them, but you owe that to your baby.

Okay, so maybe you don't have any family for some reason. Churches are generally a close-knit community. Maybe you don't like the idea of going there while they preach against some of the things you've done, but you know, you're in a bad spot here, maybe they're right. They may not approve of what you've done, but if you want to join a community that can help you, that's a good place to look.

Once you've done one or both of those, talk to people about your situation. The fact is that you don't need a job from home, and it would probably be the worst thing for you. What you need is one that allows you to care for your child, and that doesn't necessarily mean "at home". It could be someplace with a day care center (like a school or church) or just someone with an understanding boss. Maybe you could do work that doesn't involve the public or heavy lifting, and you could take the child with you. Have you any idea how many times I see babies with people at work? Secretaries, file clerks, housemaids, day care workers (imagine that!).

Stop building the walls of your own prison. Make up with your family, join a church, and ask people their advice on who in your area might hire you that can accomodate your parental responsibilities.

try getting a certification for being a medical transcriptionist. You can earn wonderful money for it right now. However it won't be around for too long because doctors will soon be able to bypass the transcriptionist by using voice recognition software. You may be able to "network" from that point and become a medical insurance advocate or something.

Sometimes you have to start with something and go on from that point.
