I've been to the docor about this last summer and have ruled out anything more serious than an ulcer or hemorrhoid...but I doubt the ulcer is the problem. There is a lot of blood with each movement and it's been almost a week now...should I worry? What will help it?

If it is a big hemorrhoid that sticks out of the anus, you will keep opening it with every bowel movement. You can try to push it back in, but you must do something to shrink it. Something like Tucks pads can help. The instructions now say to swab the anus with it, but it used to say stick it in the anus and leave it overnight, which I would recommend. I would also recommend using a suppository to shrink any tissue inside the anus. It takes some getting used to, but it's essentiall sticking a short wax tube as far as you can into your anus - and I mean pushing it up there with your finger if you have to until it doesn't come back out (you'll feel it when it reaches that point). I would suggest getting a new doctor or getting a referral to a specialist. It should not take almost a year to stop this bleeding, unless you're having anal sex..

Go to see a colo-rectal surgeon. Internal hemorrhoids can be scarred down with rubber banding, or coagulation therapy surgery (hemorrhoidectomy) is a last resort.
