Hair loss is one of many side effects. Many of the others have already been mentioned. Weight gain is very common (70% notice some gain), as is breast tenderness, skin problems, and depression. Irregular menstruation is also very common. Some women stop getting periods, while others bleed continuously. The one side effect I haven't seen here yet is pretty scary: loss of bone-density. It puts you at a high risk of osteoperosis in the future, and it isn't reversed once you quit.

Hair loss is definitely one of the many side effects of Depo. I was on the Depo x 14 yrs and decided to stop bcuz my hair would fall out in small patches only in the back of my hair (shoulder length) and I noticed that it was losing its thickness. You may also experience either a incr/decr in weight, skin problems like extra bumping on the face, dizziness and sometimes tender breasts. The plus out of this is that it may cause missed periods. Everyone is different. May I suggest webmd.com for further information.

there is not any such element as a "delivery administration vaccine". in case you're touching on Depo (the injection that lasts 12 weeks), it somewhat is general to have odd bleeding, fantastically in the 1st 3 months. maximum women human beings on depo dont have a era in any respect, in any different case they only get it precise earlier their next shot is due. some women human beings will bleed for the finished 3 months after their first shot, and it somewhat is general too. whether, in case you're worried or the bleeding is bothering you, your provider could desire to prescribe a delivery administration pill to take to end the bleeding. bypass talk on your provider! as quickly as the dep. is on your gadget, you cant change to a diverse technique until the hormone is out of your gadget (12 weeks), yet once you desire you are able to change to something else after that. returned, there is a thank you to end the bleeding yet you are able to desire to chat on your wellness care provider approximately it. Your wellness care provider could desire to have made it VERY sparkling to you approximately what sort of delivery administration you're on and what to assume as far as area outcomes. If not, you're able to desire to ask greater questions until you comprehend or bypass to a diverse wellness care provider (ie planned Parenthood).

It's horrible. Advise your friend to do a lot of research on it and get off of it asap!!! I was on it for almost 2 years and gained 30lbs... Everyone else I know gained a lot of weight as well. It can cause hair loss, it depletes your bone mass and you can never get that back, it can cause infertility for quite some time after getting off of it... I think it should be illegal. It's horrible.

When i was on depo, i did have a little hair loss. not much, it stoped about 3 months later. And i gained alot of weight. I'm already big so my doctor took me off of it because of the weight gain, it was putting me at a high risk for diabetes. Tell your friend to talk to her doc and maybe he can do something for it.!!

I know a couple people who got that shot. One person was fine with it, but the other person got sick with it. She never got a shot again.
