The surgeon, or the clinic may force its own brand of "morals". Restrictions are born out of these "morals". If they he is too young, just go to the next clinic. If he is in the military, then they also have their own restrictions. This will vary from branch, to branch, post to post, and doctor to doctor.
As far as I know, there are no state or federally imposed restrictions except that he must be 18.
Why should they care anyway? Your money is just as good as anyone elses.
I got mine at age 21, with no kids (that was 20 years ago). I got it at a private clinic.
They asked if I had kids. I lied and told them I did. They never asked how many. They never asked if my wife knew, approved. I don't remember if they asked my age, but I am sure that they asked my birthdate.
$250 later, I was snipped!
I belong to a club of couples that chose not have children. There are both young and old couples. Almost every man, in the group, has a vasectomy (and of-course none of them have children).

I had my vasectomy done when I was 21. No I never had any children, and I am now almost 42. Naturally I get asked the same question you are asking all the time. I get mine checked every 5 years. I just had mine checked. I was curious, so I asked the doctor what the age, and minimum number of children is. He said 18, and no minimum. My buddy just had his done, and he is 25. He has no children either. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. If the doctor says no, go to the next one in the phone book. Don't believe anyone that says they are reversible. Only doctors that sell false hope will tell you that. Only about 30% of reversals are successful. Remember there are big bucks made in reversals (10 grand each). Good luck.

RE:
Is there an age restriction for a vasectomy?
My husband is 29 years old. Is there an age restriction for a vasectomy? We have three kids and I want him cut instead of me.

Most hospitals have a policy that says not until at least 25 and preferrably after having kids. Most will allow them after 25 with kids and after 30 without. If people weren't so quick to sue the hospital for their own decisions, it wouldn't be an issue. Talk with the doctor, there us a 30 day waiting period after scheduling the vasectomy/tubal ligation. My hubby and I are going that route, I'm 35 weeks with our third and I'm done. I'm sending him under the knife as its just a minor procedure for him but major surgery for me.

Some doctors don't like doing them on younger men without children. But considering he is almost 30 & has 3 kids already, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.

I think the restriction varies per doctor, but ts like 22 or 3 kids, since you have met both of those criteria you should be OK.

It depends on the Dr. My Dr. told both of us no (Age 25 and 28). She said we were to young to be sure. But I know if I really wanted to I could find a Dr. to do it.
