I am tired of purchasing inkjet cartridges - they don't last long and are too expensive. I'd prefer a laserjet but I need a scanner, copier and fax.

While more expensive on the front end i have found the HP CM1015 MFP excellent. I print about 2000 pages a week at home, between work and what the kids need. The old HP G85xi was getting about 250 to 300 pages per cartridge and the new laser about 4000 to 6000 per cartridge.
The ink is $30 to $50 per cartridge and the toner is $100 per cartridge. As you can see it paid for it's self fairly quickly.
Laser is the way to go.

Seems to be a common problem. Buy a printer for $100 and spend that or more everytime you replace cartridges. I personally have an HP Officejet 6110 all in one printer which cost me $299 4 years ago and I spend about $60 on ink cartridges about every 3-4 months (I don't use it very often). Its always ready to go even after weeks of no use the first page is clean and crisp without having gummed up nozzles or printheads.

HP makes pretty good, cheap all in ones. Run you about $100-150 depending on options. HP5610. Carts will cost $18-24 ea. 140 clr pages and 220 black pages at 5% coverage.

My choice is the Brother all in ones. Less that $100 when on sale (always on sale), $15 a cart takes 4 but you get 500 pages from each at 5% coverage. Plus they make new compatibles you can pick up for $6-10 ea.

I had an identical difficulty while i offered a clean Canon Pixma MP150, an miraculous multi function printer however the Canon refills cost approximately £30 for the two.there is in basic terms one source of greater much low cost refills and this require a small substitute to the printer head . I recommend you carry out a splash analyze on alternative cartridge costs in the previous you purchase making specific you get the the terrific option reference numbers. this could steer clear of £££'s. in case you prefer intense high quality shade prints you are able to could desire to compromise on cost.
