old TV series...Kung Fu. Starred David Carridine. He was "grasshopper " to Master Po.

from an old TV show called Kung Fu.. David Carradine was in it and he was the master and he had an asian (chinese guy) who traveled around with him who was the grasshopper.

In the '70's there was a show named, "Kung Fu". It was all about a kung fu master and his apprentice. The master called his apprentice, "Grass hopper". It stuck in American culture, like, "Goodnight, John Boy", ever since.
