Not about to compare Iraq w/Vietnam; whether +50,000, or +3,000 makes no difference at this juncture.

There's no war on terror. Very siccinctly this is no less than human sacrifice. The Bush game.Numbers, not names.

May is 3rd-deadliest month for troops in Iraq The Associated Press

BAGHDAD — May is not yet over, and already it has recorded the third-highest monthly death toll for American forces in Iraq since the war began four years ago.

The military announced that 10 soldiers were killed in roadside bombings and a helicopter crash on Memorial Day. As of late Tuesday, there were at least 113 U.S. deaths in Iraq so far in May.
.
The U.S. military has said soldiers could face higher chances of ambush and capture under a new strategy to shift troops into smaller outposts — part of plans to seek more outreach with Iraqi civilians and possible tips on militant activities.

Our "heroes?"
Humm
None ever came back to confirm they were GLAD to have died as "heroes".

no! not a democrat, not conservative, not an atheist..not a dude..just a female..younger than Bush daughters..not concerned with the mindsets of warriors. Appreciate war veterans but even some of them - here's where personal experience counts! - feel this carnage in Iraq is all for naught.

AH, nothing!,
Yes. the deaths of our own here in the U.S. concern me, as have the "hundreds of thousands of Iraqi innocents" who have been deprived of life as well. Every human life is precious you see.
.
"you would prefer the military fight house-to-house and stree-to-street here in the U.S.?"
No. But neither do the Iraqis, the people Bush promised "liberty, freedom and democracy," A little difficult when you can no longer breath!

You say " I would agree that there is no war on terror IF you agree that it was an outright declaration of war on the UNITED STATES OF America."

No. I have a young mind but it is keen and analytical mind. I do not ascribe to the idea of a "conspiracy" as do many many others. I simply question the idea of a big overgrown Arab living in a cage having masterminded September 11, withOUT the aid of brilliant U.S. insiders who used a plethora of valuable information to bring down those towers!
A simple question, which has remained unanswered.

Why it is true that the ultimate success in Iraq depends upon the will of the people, the will of the people in Iraq did not count for a grain of salt under the dictator Saddam.
My question to you would be why the bit (phony?) concern over the deaths of a "few" in Iraq, when many times that many are killed every year on American highways? How about the many times that many that are KILLED through abortion? How about the many times that many that are killed through errors of doctors, nurses and pharmacists? Why is it that deaths resulting in attempting to rescue people from a mad man concerns you, but the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people does not concern you?
Next, apparently you would prefer the military fight house-to-house and stree-to-street here in the U.S.?
I would agree that there is no war on terror IF you agree that it was an outright declaration of war on the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

That is so revolting, I feel sick to my stomach. I hate to say it but when adults teach their children to lie and cheat at such a young age, something really bad is going to come along and bite them both in the behind; and it will be in a major way. I know families that have lost a family member to that horrible war, and they have to deal with the heartache every single day and would never think of using their loved one's death to gain anything. I hear some pretty frightening and disturbing things on a daily bases, and that is revolting. I could only hope and pray that contest winners are more carefully screened from now on. Maybe someone should fine the mother the cost of the tickets plus additional funds to go toward fallen soldiers family support groups or bills or something. I can only pray that child does not land in jail in her later life, because her Mom is teaching her to be such a fine and upstanding citizen. I am being totally facetious, of course. Have a Happy New Year, may God help us all.

let me explain, if this administation would'nt have sent us to iraq we'd be someplace else for the other administration. it's not a republican democrat thing, hell we tried to do the same thing in somolia under clinton but failed cause the administration got scared. the same with this administraiton, if they let us take our gloves off and fight the damn war the way we been trained we finish this **** in 6mos. I don't know really who to blame for this now, the president who keeps us there or the congress who voted to send us there, or how about those pencil pushers who wont let us fight this damn thing and get it over with. when are people going to realize that war is hell and let us really kill those sobs. so this notion going around blaming just bush is a crock of ****. everyone on capital hill has their own part to blame.

He simply has no interest in what's good and evil. He does what's right for himself. Billions of people are guilty of the same thing.

Both? Sh**t happens AND THEN People die in wars? idk. I was thinking about this awhile back and I thought if maybe America had more support from various nations before the war than maybe it would have been done in less than one year rather than America going it alone.
