I always liked Flo's Kiss My Grits, and Mel's Stow It.. I cant remember what Jolene used to say, she had a sharp line too ..
as for the a real Mel's Diner, not sure.. I do remember a Mel's Diner on Route 66 in my travels when I was little, but it was just a 50's style restaurant, and had nothing to do with the TV show or the original movie..
its probably gone now.. I was a kid then and am In my upper 30's now

Everybody is going to say Kiss My Grits from Flo. But Flo got her own series and left. To me, (perhaps as a guy), the lasting line I enjoy is Mel's line "You stow it Alice" (or Flo, Vera). All in all a great show I enjoyed growing up as a young person. It's now being rerun on a network called ION--fantastic TV for those interested in traditional funny comedies of the type that really no longer grace our airwaves, unfortunately.

Flo.........Kiss my grits.........did you know Flo's catch phrase, "Kiss my grits" was popular at the time her character appeared on the show. According to Polly Holliday, the line was originally written as "Kiss my honeydew", but didn't get any laughs
