Why would two Chicago radio stations transmit the hourly time signal at different times? 11 secs difference.?

This drives me crazy. Isn't one of these stations misleading people as to the time, even though its just 11 seconds?

As you so obviously know the answer, why are you asking?

Since either or both station's time is wrong, you should hire an attorney to sue them for continually misleading you and the other listeners.

One of the stations may be broadcasting in HD. The analog audio from HD transmitters is delayed 8 seconds so that it will blend smoothly with the HD audio. The HD station may not be aware that you are depending on them for time cues.
