I live in Florida too, but now we are in a drought state. Good luck in watering without getting a fine.

Way too much. In a drought like we have twice a week is fine. If you have an irrigation system set it for about 25 minutes each zone and be sure to water just before dawn. Do not water in the middle of the day or at night.

Normally, for a good lawn, one inch per week is recommended. I feel it is better to apply it all at once so it soaks in rather than "teasing" the roots and making them come to the surface for water. When I lived in Florida, I only had sand so it needed a through soaking.

Watering deeply but less often is better for your yard than watering it every day but only getting just the surface wet.

Watering more deeply encourages the roots to go deeper into the soil, which gives them better stability and nutrient-gathering ability. Surface watering encourages the roots to stay near the very top of the soil, where they're more vulnerable.

Talk to your local plant nursery or a landscaping service for their recommendations for your specific area, but in general I think 1-2 times per week is better than every day, as long as you water long enough to wet the soil more deeply.

I live in NEvada... we NEED to water r yawn daily. But u have humidity there. We have very little. We water r yards early early morn every hr 3xs w/ 4min ea time. It's best not to water during the day when the sun is out & heat is high b/c u just lose all that to vaporation. IF u'r humidity is high, u may not NEED to water it every day. My folks live in Ohio & we rely on rain but lately w/ not mch coming their way, they have been watering every day. IF u'r grass is getting soagy... then stop & try EVERY OTHER day.

Florida is in a drought.. stop watering.. conserve the water resources. grass can grow again.

Sorry.. that is my militant environmentalist voice coming out.

The first answers are accurate.
