Actually, men have been known to lactate when there are no women around to feed the infant.
Why is that?
Both sexes have 87 hormones and only 6% of these hormones are responsible for the difference in our sexes.
All mammals start off with an embryo that is female with a primitive womb. Then, depending on the level of male or female hormone during a strategic time of development dictates what that sex is going to be.

All foetuses form as females to begin with in the womb. By the time the hormones kick in to make a foetus a male, it has already developed nipples!! The clitoris turns into a penis at this point too.

My favorite response to that is from the Golden Girls
"Do you think it's because God has a sense of humor and isn't uptight like the rest of us."
But theres probably some scientic answer to this.

all fetuses in the womb start as female. The change in sex doesn't occur until almost the third month gestation, so anatomically we all start out the same, that is why boys have nipples.

when we are embrios, we grow nipples before our sex is decided, so everyone has nipples, and maybe they are like amphibians if we need to feed a baby we will lactate, like the frogs, if they need a women they will change their sex. wierd
