My boyfriend has access to my email accounts like Facebook, Myspace. I dont see how he is getting the passwords. My passwords are hard and you just cant guess them. Their not even words. How is he doing this? He doesnt leave the house to do it, I know he is doing it in our home. I have my own laptop now and he uses it sometimes but I still dont see how he is doing it from my laptop. There arent any odd downloads at all.

Help!!

I have an idea why he might be doing it but thats not important right now, please help me on the HOW part?

Find a good anti-spyware program (adAware and WindowsDefender are free) and do a scan of your system. There are so many different ways of getting access to someone's personal account info -- especially if your boyfriend has physical access to your computer.

Even if you lock your computer and have password-protected accounts, he can use one of several tools (see the last link below) to bypass passwords, install something that logs your passwords and automatically emails them to him (like the SpectorSoft link below).

Be safe and do regular spyware scans. He may think he has good intentions, but it can certainly seem like a violation of privacy. Talk to him about boundaries... or if you're feeling devilish plant "false" information through mySpace to get HIM to confront YOU.

Good luck!

Did you give a password away to anyone? If so this is what you should do. First change your password. Then if a friend asks why you changed your password you got bingo! Good Luck.

Hi,
There are many ways(tools) to capture the keyboard inputs. I don't specify any one of them, because I don't think it is that hard to write a program that captures the key input and writes in to a file and sends that file to an e-mail ID as attachment.
If you can effort time, do a
-------reinstall of the OS or an alternative for this is to
-------stop some services or tasks from task manager
that are related to that malicious program. But which task to stop is a hard thing to find out. Thats why told to reinstall OS.

Mr.boyfriend, if you are going to see this answer too since you know the password, the following is for you:
You may have your view on your girl friend. But don't forget that at times you may go wrong.

Bye.

if you are always choosing the options to save passwords, such as on Firefox, these can be very easily viewed. For example on Firefox if you go to Tools | Options | Security and then click "Show Passwords" you will get a list of all the passwords you have.
Remember there are lots of programs out there which are able to retrieve stored passwords so it's always better to store the password only in your mind.... it will be safe (...at least for now unless you get hypnotized or something :P)

Alternatively he might be using keylogging software as others mentioned....
