Assuming they could collide it would have to depend on where they collide. Venus is about the same size as the Earth and Mars is just a little bigger than our Moon (about 1/3rd smaller than the Earth). Regardless of who hits who both planets would be completely destroyed. If Mars hit in Venus' orbital plane we would definately see the explosion, even in day time and it would be very likely The Earth would get hit by some of the debris. Life on Earth might be threatened.
If the opposite happened and Mars got hit we would see the explosion at night and it would be visible with the naked eye. Earth might still be threatened it would just take longer for any threat to get here. Either way we would ultimatley see a lot of meteor activity.

Mars is the god, not only of war but of sexual drive.
Venus is the goddess not only of beauty but of love as well.
Now, you can understand what will happen to the people on Earth when these two planets collide.
