No, I don't think so. You would require a DSL router and not an ADSL.

Unless I am mistaken Telewest is a cable supplier and you are trying to use a ADSL modem which is for a phone provider. I think you need to get a cable modem.

No you can't. ADSL modem-routers have a BT phone jack, and no connection to bypass the built in modem.

Whether what I have is what you need I am not sure. I have Virgin Media broadband with a cable modem.As I did not want cables all round my room I bought a Philips wireless router suitable to use with cable.It took a bit of setting up,especially encrypting the router for security.but now works fine.Now whether any of this is relevant to what you are trying to do I don't know.The router I use is a Philips SNB5600.

if you have a cable modem you need a dsl wireless router, not an adsl wireless modem/router
