My six month old has a total of 5 feeding each day. She has a bottles at 6, 10, 2, 5, & 8. We're in the process of scaling back to 4 feedings each day, so we're trying to push back the 5pm feeding and then eliminate the 8pm--some days it happens, some days it doesn't. She gets solids at two of those feedings, the 10am and the 5pm. Rice cereal at the morning feeding, and a fruit or veggie at the night feeding. She does 2oz of solids at a time.
You can try increasing her solids, just make sure she doesn't cut back on the formula since that should continue to be her main source of nutrition at this point. She'll let you know when she's had enough.

sounds like your doing great!.That really sounds perfect! as long as she is getting 24-32 oz of breast milk or formula (24 at the very least till age 1) any solids she wants is fine. some babies will eat only 1 jar while others will eat 3-5 jars. spread milk and solids out during the day and give a little extra formula, water/juice during hot summer days. I wouldn't give more solids unless she is showing she is hungry. If you are not sure-offer her a little solids after her bottles and see if she is interested. Your doing great!

i think 2 solid meals a day is just fine... thats about what i give my 8 month old... somedays i feed her 3 solid meals, depending on where we are and how convenient it is. for the others i give her 8 oz. bottles. so i think you're doing just fine. you can also start giving her a sippy cup to get her used to not using the bottle.

You're doing it all right! Keep her formula at her normal schedule - that's where most of her nutrition comes from at this age anyway. Solids are mostly for practice in new textures and new experiences - such as when she learns her "pincer grasp" - she'll be able to pick things up on her own and put them in her mouth - that's a good time to start things like Cheerios. You can offer more solids, and if she's ready for them or hungry enough, she'll take them. Babies won't eat if they're not hungry.

Breakfast: Cereal with one 2nd foods jar... As much as she'll eat.
Lunch: Two 2nd food jars...As much as she'll eat.
Dinner: Two 2nd food jars..As much as she'll eat.
She is too young to take any formula away, but the idea is to replace the formula with food and also growing babies need more than bottles to satisfy their bellies. The food simply fills the gap for babies who need more than formula to fill them up. I wouldn't change the amount of formula she is getting. I also wouldn't feed her food at the same time she gets a bottle. It could be trouble later on when trying to wean her if she is used to a food meal including a bottle. Allow at least 30 minutes or more between bottles and food. Sometimes they do get so hungry (growth spurts) that they need that bottle even right after they've ate food, but the more you can separate food with formula, the easier it will be to wean later on.

sounds like your doing ok. If she wants to eat more than feed her solids for breakfast lunch and dinner. Otherwise you seem like your doing fine.
