Calvin Johnson has all the tools to be the next Randy Moss or Terrell Owens. If the first time you heard about him was during the combine, than you don't watch or know football. Johnson can dominate a game, because of his speed and SIZE. Ted Ginn Jr., may end up being a good return man, but due to his height or lack of it, he is a risk at receiver. Brady Quin has the potential to be a franchise QB, but like any fist round QB, he can be a flop. It does not matter if the dolphins have Daunte or Trent Green, you need two reliable QBs and under the right system, Brady can flourish in the NFL and be around for 10 years. Daunte and/or Green have maybe 5 years left, and they will not be whole seasons. Ginn, due to his size and abilities may give a team 3 good years, but I think when it is all said and done, Brady Quinn will have more productive playing time and a longer career.

First, I'm a Miami fan, I have some say in this so listen to me also, like some other fans.

Are you on crack bro? They were very wise on passing on Brady, because he's just not ready for the NFL level at this point in time. Yes Brady's good, but I don't think he's great, and more than likey he'll be a big bust, come on! He's with the Browns man. Ted, he may end up being a great receiver, he has the speed, but he's injuries will cost him, and he's still hurt right now. Plus, can he take the hits of a fellow LB or Safety? I don't know bro, this is still a good question, but think about it. A small 5'11" and 185 pound receiver taking a hit from, oh lets say, a 6'3" 250 pound NFL fully tuned athlete? That's gonna hurt. They were VERY smart in taking John Beck, BUT they should've picked him first, then everyone else they needed, and then a receiver later in the draft, there's always a reciever to chose later in the drafts, you can always train a receiver, that's way they're drafted, to get better. Receiver's are the best to make better. You can't just make a good running back, or QB, and a wide out NEVER comes before a QB. If you don't have a QB, how DOES the wide out get the ball, QB first, receiver last, work with what you already have. Nah, Ted and Brady are out of the question for Miami. I hope you prove me wrong though, but I just don't see anything in any of those guys.

P.S. You DO kow that Calvin was like the best receiver EVER right? You must be on crack bro.

Dear Cowboy fans,

We're still gonna kick y'alls butts this year if we get some things situated (QB prob)

You're crazy and don't know what you're talking about if you think Ginn Jr. will be a better receiver. Of course he may end up that way, but there's been absolutely nothing to show that. Ginn Jr. was projected as a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick, and the Dolphins, a team with TONS of needs, pick the most luxury position you can take in a wide receiver. I think it was a joke, and that's why so many analysts were left speechless and Dolphin fans outraged.

Calvin Johnson as a top pick is justified. He is a BEAST. He's almost like what Reggie Bush last year was to running backs - an incredible talent that hasn't come out of college at that position in a long time. And you can't pass that up.

Ginn though, as I said, wasn't near the talent that Johnson was. So for the Dolphins to pass up on a QB like Quinn for a WR when they already have some, is just plain stupid. And if Culpepper can't come back this season, and they end up relying on this Cleo Lemon, who sounds like more of a character in a Disney movie than an NFL QB, it will show why they should have drafted the QB because they're going to tank hard again.

You might be right about the Ginn vs. Johnson thing. I think Ginn is awesome. Never even heard of Johnson before the combine, those guys never seem to work out. Brady Quinn is going to be a huge flop. Remember Alex Smith? He was an unbelievable college QB. Below avg in the pros. He started looking good towards the end of last year, but still. 49ers signed him to a 49 mil 6 year deal. Two years are up. He hasn't done any better than some random bench QB and it cost the 49ers 16.6 mil! That's just stupid. Quinn doesn't have a chance to be as good as Smith. Isn't worth the money, especially when you can just get a guy like Trent Green for a year or two for 5-6 mil.

Daunte is still on the roster. I actually thought the Dolphins were really dumb when they passed on Quinn and took Ginn, but then later I realized that they still have Daute and Cleo Lemon and possibly trade to get Trent Green. They bigger need was at the reciverp position and Ginn fits in great, now that Wes Welker is gone. Trent will start with the dolphins and this will be a decent football team. At least better than last year.

No way, Ted Ginn Jr continues to be harm & all he has is velocity. he would be an somewhat good punt & kick off returner, yet not as good as Devin Hester or %guy Jones. he's to short to be an somewhat good receiver & his palms arent all that super. The Dolphins are idiots they desire a good youthful quarterback ( Brady Quinn ) not a decreipid old QB that use to be good ( Dante' Culpepper ) & dont say we've been given John Beck he's 27 years old so he would be 30 b4 he even knows a thank you to play in the NFL & by potential of then he would be previous his best. The Dolphins have mandatory a replace at QB with the aid of fact Marino retired & i in my opinion have faith they previous up on the subsequent Marino while they chosen Ted Ginn over Brady Quinn. thank you to bypass Dolphins!!!! Dumbasses! bypass TITANS!!!!!!!

I'm a Dolphin fan

I'm perfectly fine with them not drafting Quinn
but what possible reason do you have to think Ginn will be a better receiver than Calvin Johnson?
he doesn't run anywhere near good routes unless it's straight and fast
he doesn't have good hands
he doesn't block
I mean.....I expect him to be a good return man (even though you need great blocking ahead of you to amount to anything)
but when it comes to offense......he doesn't have any of the tools you'd look for in a receiver other than speed
his moves are average....he uses his speed to get by people more than any juking or anything
and in the NFL, he's bound to get blown up.

Honestly, I hope that I'm 100% wrong, but I live in Ohio and have gotten to watch him every Saturday for the last 2ish years.....even if he did have any of the tools to be decent in the NFL......taking him at #9 overall was pretty insane.

Seriously.....I'd love to hear back from you as to why you think he's going to be better than Calvin Johnson
e-mail me

Have a good one

P.S. to TIM above me........if you hadn't heard of Calvin Johnson before the combine, you have no business talking football.
It's like those ESPN commercials with the guys talking out of their butts

When you have a chance to take a possible franchise QB you take them. You can always find good recivers late in the draft. With culpepper future uncertain why not take a shot on quinn. Oh barring serious injury there is no chance in hell ginn will ever be as good as calvin johnson.

I love this pick. Ted Ginn Jr. will be a star. He will prove everyone wrong. He is one of the fastest if not the fastest player in the draft. He can have Hester type numbers in the return game and he can have Santana Moss type numbers in the receiving game. Hes great

They are both equal risks in my opinion. There are good college players then there are good football players. You never know what you are going to get from a college grad until he steps on the field with the big boys.

personaly i think Quinn is a bit more of a risk and probably slightly overrated. Qb's have the largest learning curve due to Their position. WR types on the other hand have it a bit easier and can make an impact earlier. The question is do the dolphins need a QB in 3 years or an impact player now.
